A Peek At The Week
-In reading we are continuing to switch to our leveled reading groups. Students should be bringing home daily reading homework.
-During math we will be working on taking away 8 and 9 from teen numbers. Students will first break apart the teen number into a ten and some ones. Then, they will take away the 8 or 9 from the ten to find their answer. Students will also be working with even/odd numbers and doubles during station time.
-This week during writing time we will be working on telling more within our writing. Students will be writing about a time that was fun and about a time that was not fun! Our writing paper this week will be different, with no illustration box. Students are adding details through words in their story.
-During our Core Knowledge time will begin our new science unit on the States of Matter. Students will learn about the 3 states of matter and atoms. During this unit we will get to observe and work with hands on experiments!

-Please take time to read with your child every night for minutes.

Fall is here! Please send your kiddo to school with a jacket for that cold morning recess and those chilly afternoons.

-We had a special guest arrive in our class today…an elf!!! She will be with us until we leave for Christmas break to watch for Santa. Hopefully this will help us remember to always make good choices  
