This week in math we will continue learning shapes. We will review all of the shapes. The children will need to know the following shapes for their grade card: square, triangle, rectangle, hexagon, and circle. I will be testing them on these shapes on Friday

We have learned the letters A-J and next week we will learn the letters K-N. We will also learn the sight word a. Our poem of the week is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
In social studies we will be talking grandparents. We will discuss all the different names we have for our grandparents and will talk about what makes them so special.
This week we will begin reading groups. I will be sending home books in a
“reading bag” for your child to
read at home. Please send those
books back the next day, even if
you did not get a chance to read
it that night. We will be using
the book each day for
instruction. Thank you!
Author Study
This week we will begin a new author study that we will focus on for the month of September. We will read books by Lois Ehlert. Some of the books we will enjoy this week are Color Zoo, Color Farm, and Planting a Rainbow.
