14 Review Steps To Register
Don’t forget to switch to “Entering Student – Grade 12” (header background turns green). Click on “Course Requests.” In the upper-right corner, change from “Student – Grade 09” to “Entering Student – Grade 10.” Parents will do the same. Header will turn from blue to green. Registration is a process of the “new” ( ) school year. Registration drawer will open and four options will be presented: Course Requests, Summer School, 4-Year Plan, Recommendations On Course Requests, this screen will change (you have to hit the “Current” tab or “Course Requests” again) to rollover data… 14

15 Review Steps To Register
Rollover choices from your Four-Year Plan. Review what was added. Note what was not. Information for grade 10 will disappear from your 4-year plan because the 4- year plan is now feeding from what you enter in Course Requests. Don’t worry…data is still there waiting to be rolled. Must rollover data regardless if choices there or not. It will add the courses that you are allowed to enter and remove those you do not meet the requisites (grade level, recommendation). Don’t worry. You can always add it again. When you are finished you will receive a screen that looks like… 15

16 Alternates Alternates for English Need to be linked to an English Course Request. (Still need 2.) All other alternates need to be added to the “Alternate List.”

17 Course Requests …see a screen similar to this. Will probably need to add more choices to finish this out. Look at what is different: Groupings: Required, Non-required, Alternates Must rank courses! Use Up and Down links to move choices. As you add courses from the course catalog, they are placed at the bottom of the list. When you go to add alternates, you will not be choosing an alternate for a course request. Rather you will be entering an alternate for the “Alternate list.” Courses that need alternates are contributing to the minimum alternate count. MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE COURSES IN THE ORDER TO WHICH YOU WANT THEM. You will more than likely be pulled out of one request and placed into your first alternate so choose the alternates wisely and make sure you rank them so the scheduler knows what you’re thinking. …leaving notes. 17

18 Review Steps To Register
Once everything turns green, finalize your choices! Your HR teacher can unlock should you need to make changes. Once everything turns green and you are clear for checkout, the “Finalize Choices” button will light up. Finalize your choices! This is what will solidify your requests. Your HR teacher/counselor can always unlock but if they do, do not forget to finalize again! It is important that you do this BY THE TIME REGISTRATION FINISHES BECAUSE… 18

19 Kapalama Campus Summer School (7 - 12) Jun 12 - Jul 20, 2012
Jan Online Registration Summer School-opens Jan 7:00 a.m. - Closes Jan 15 @ 4:00 p.m. * Yes, it’s on! * No KS summer classes will be offered on outer-island campuses, except for distance learning courses (i.e., ECON and Hawn Hist). Visit the KS website, click on KS Distance Learning to take a prescreening test and to preview the the course. It is not recommended that you take both of these courses at the same time. * Caution: 1) 3 cr. limit for social studies credits (boarders need formal clearance from Assistant Principal for 4 summer soc. stud. credits. 2) Math should be taken to make-up or to improve one’s grade. The math department discourages taking a summer math class to accelerate to next level. It’s a lot of work to cover in only 6 weeks. 3) Ask subject teachers or counselor about further concerns. * If you do not pass or follow-through on you summer academic plans, notify counselor. Your senior year schedule may need to be modified. *** EACH STUDENT IS ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE! For their own 4-yr. planning, graduation requirements, registration, classwork, grades, etc. 19

20 Summer School Registration
You have FIRST PRIORITY! You or your parents can complete this. Social Studies – only 3 credits allowed Language – if you take a language course, you must enroll in the next level Don't forget bus Make note of your Summer School request You have first priority. Your parents can do this as well, unlike regular school registration where it’s your responsibility (well, this is your responsibility too; I’m not sure I would rely on my parents to get me into a specific class). If you miss your window, you go to the bottom below the 8th graders to be freshman. 20
