Further, the 5000 CP enables businesses to network up to 99 geographically dispersed locations while offering centralized management and feature transparency. IP networking is also included out of the box. The 5000 HX controller is designed to help scale and protect existing and new customer investments by supporting networking with an existing Inter-Tel Axxess® or older 5000 CS communications platforms to offer a compelling migration story. Release 4.0 software runs on both old (CS) and new (HX) controllers. The 5000's support of SIP interop is managed by the SIP Centre of Excellence just like MCD and more detailed information can be accessed on Mitel Online’s knowledge database Note however that the 5000's SIP implementation hasn't been around as long, there aren't as many carriers/devices supported. The HX Controller comprises a chassis and a processor module. The HX Controller chassis incorporates, an LCD display for viewing system status, alarms and performing some basic administrative actions and two USB ports – USB A for system backups and USB B for technicians to run diagnostics, and an HX Processor Module. The HX Processor Module runs the 5000 CP software which provides a wealth of features, delivers a Door Relay, Paging and a Music On Hold port, four analog trunks and four analog extensions (without the need for extra modules), a LAN port to connect onto the network, as well as the capability to connect additional expansion bays, if required, to scale the solution. The HX Controller can support traditional devices and network connections such as digital handsets, T1 network connections, BRI network connections as well as pure IP (SIP trunks, IP handsets etc). The system provides the resources for managing the necessary translation from one environment to the other. Additionally, the 5000 CP HX Controller provides the necessary DSP resources to support services such as T.38 fax over IP and G.729 compression between IP and TDM devices. To scale the system simply, connect one or more Digital Expansion Interface chassis, and you have additional module bays to continue system expansion. System Administration and Diagnostics is an exciting new PC-based tool that provides rich task-oriented diagnostics in an attractive graphical user interface for technicians. Configuration on the 5000 is undertaken using an installable DB Programming client which provides a single point of access for copy/paste, wizards, and context sensitive help. Most importantly though, Database Programming provides off-line configuration capability making it possible to completely configure a 5000 without the 5000 hardware. This programming utility integrates with the Mitel Applications Suite for the 5000 and enables technicians to export user information from the 5000 CP and import into the Mitel Applications Suite 1162_6476

Mitel 5000 Communications Platform (CP) 4/24/2018 Leadership in Design and Functionality Not only does HX Controller and Release 4 support the following endpoints, it introduces support for the new 5310 conference unit in addition to support for the IM (Line Interface Module) on the 5324/5330/40 & 60 IP phones. The LIM provides a separate connection to an analog line and is in line with Mitel’s overall resiliency strategy. Further V4 provides the ability to make use of the self labeling capabilities of the 5300 series IP phones by allowing system-wide customization of the label displayed on the phone. So individual trunks can now be labeled as opposed to having the trunk’s extension number. End users can also customize feature labels – for example a customer can choose to display Record instead of rec-a call The 5000 HX supports basic SIP (line-side) capability with the Unified Communicator Express Softphone and the Mitel 5610 DECT handset and IP DECT stand. I mention this because many of the Axxess swap outs I have talked through involve networked 3300's and we cannot integrate with these for this release 3) Upgrade is a fixed non discountable price.
