Binder Success Policy & Procedure Helpful Hints to Make the Binder Work for You!

What the school will provide: / Binder / Student policy handbook, school map and bell schedule included. / Dividers / Enough for each period labeled 1-8 / Sheet protector / Pencil pouch

What the teacher will provide: / Three-hole-punched copies, worksheets, etc. / Regular checks of your binder to be sure it is neat and organized. / 10% of your grade, based on your binder use.

What YOU, the students will provide: / Lined paper appropriate for each class. / Pens, pencils, and other materials appropriate for each class. / Desire to succeed.

Student Responsibilities / Bring the binder to every class every day. Backpacks, bags, and purses will NOT be allowed in class. / Use pencil pouch for writing utensils and other necessary class items.

Student Responsibilities / If you lose the school-provided binder or it breaks, you will need to replace it on your own. / You can provide your own binder if you don’t want to use the school binder, but you must have and use a binder.

Helpful Hints / You will be able to personalize your binder with school appropriate items in the page protector. Sheet protectors are not pockets – one layer only. / Avoid spiral notebooks. / All papers need to have complete headings and be hole-punched.

More Helpful Hints / Put all paperwork in the divider section for your class immediately, NOT in the sheet protector in the front. / Order papers from oldest to most recent, with assignment log on top.

Even More Helpful Hints / At lunch, put your binder in your locker or carry it. / You can carry your binder to school in your backpack, but the backpack must be kept in your locker. / Please take care of your binder. It is intended to last all year.
