2 Keep everything organized with your 3-Ring Binder, Math Notebook, and Time Tracker!

3 How should I use my 3-Ring Binder?

4 3-Ring Binder Start by creating sections in your binder for each of your classes. Use dividers or tabs.

5 3-Ring Binder Make a tab for each of your classes: o Math o Science o Language Arts o Social Studies o Elective PE will use a separate binder or notebook.

6 3-Ring Binder When you receive handouts in Math class, place these papers in the “Math” section of your binder.

7 3-Ring Binder Be sure to use the rings of your binder. Papers should not “float” in your binder. Do not put papers in the pockets. Papers should not “float” in your binder or backpack.

8 3-Ring Binder In the back of your binder, keep a supply of lined paper. Paper

9 3-Ring Binder Your binder should pass the “SHAKE” test!!

12 3-Ring Binder Some people like to have a materials bag in their binder…

13 Materials Bag Recommended items to have… sharpened pencils several colors of pens highlighter pencil sharpener or pencil lead white board marker

14 Math Notebook Use a spiral notebook that has at least 70 pages of paper and also has 3-ring holes.

15 You will use this daily in class to strengthen and keep track of your learning. It will contain all notes and class work in one convenient spot. It will help you to become more organized and able to easily find your math work and notes. Math Notebook

16 IMPORTANT: Bring your notebook to class every day (keep it in or near your binder). No doodling that does not relate to math notes. Be careful not to lose it!

19 Time Tracker An organizational tool to help you keep track of your school work load.

20 Time Tracker Record homework, upcoming tests, and other important dates in your time tracker. For math, you will write homework in your time tracker during the first few minutes of class. Use it every day in every class.

21 Time Tracker This is how your time tracker should look at the end of each week.

22 Time Tracker This is how your time tracker should look at the end of each week. Notice how homework is recorded for every class on every day!

23 Homework Log Used to keep track of completed homework. You will indicate whether you felt the assignment was… ___ Easy ___ Just right ___ Hard Oftentimes, the “reflection” part will be completed during class time.
