FNRBA REPORT ON THE WORKSHOP ON MANAGEMENT AND SAFE DISPOSAL OF RW March, Tunis, Tunisia

1.EVALUATION OF THE WORKSHOP -Visa problems -Payment problems (Send the lump Sum to UNDP in Countries) -Air Ticket: It better to be bought by IAEA -WS Program outline along with participant list should be sent before the arrival -During presentations, it is better to alternate the presenter in one day

-More time should be given for group discussions -The discussion should be after lunch -there should be microphone in the hall The overall objective of the WS was achieved that is : -Exchange of technical knowledge between countries was done -the technical knowledge presented was relevant to all countries - acknowledgement of lecturers and organisers

1.Future Activities -The WS was good and should be repeated annually to see the progress or achievment of countries in the RWM -Some sites visits of RWM facilities should be included -Topic on transportation of RW should be included in the presentations

-TC projects on RWM -MANAGEMENT OF NORM -Development of Radiation protection programme for RWM facilities - Emergency preparedness for RWM facilities -Standards on regulations of RWM -Management of Sources (predisposal / disposal) -Conditioning of RW sources -Quality Assurance

SUPPORT NEEDED -Strengthen the collaboration among FNRBA, ANNuR and IAEA -Support the countries in separation of regulator and operator of RW -Continueous support in human capacities for the next five years in RWM - The IAEA and other donnors should Continue supporting FNRBA and ANNur
