Test Period, Test Cycle What is a Test Cycle?  The individual assessment  WIDA, SAT, WorkKeys, W-APT, M-STEP, P-SAT, MI-Access Functional Independence (FI), MI-Access Participation (P) and MI-Access Supported Independence (SI) What is a Test Period?  WorkKeys – Spring 2016 WorkKeys test period  M-STEP, SAT and MI-Access FI, P and SI – Spring 2016 test period  KEA – Fall 2015 KEA test period  WIDA – Spring 2016 WIDA test period

Pre-Identification General assessments (M-STEP, WorkKeys, PSAT, SAT and WIDA)  DAS will pre-ID students using the fall MSDS general collection (student count day data)  District/school are responsible for pre-identifying additional students directly on the Secure site  One student at a time through Student Search  Pre-Id File Upload Pre-ID File Format and Template available on LOG IN page of the Secure Site You are creating a file and loading it through this process, so don’t forget to check the Pre-ID File Upload screen to ensure it loads without errors

Pre-Identification – Secure Site MI-Access  MI-Access is based on the student’s IEP  All students are pre-ID to M-STEP and schools can copy them to MI- Access as a group  Mass Update Assessments from the Student Assessments menu

Pre-ID Student Report Full list of students that are pre-identified for testing Ensure all students enrolled during the testing window are pre-identified  Search by Test Period to ensure students are taking all of the required assessments for that period. Students can be unassigned (removed) from the test cycle on the Pre-ID Student Report screen  This does not remove the student from accountability. Look for highlighted students – means the UIC is unresolved Print or download the Pre-ID Student Report

Barcode Labels All paper/pencil answer documents must have a student barcode label If pre-ID by the posted deadline, will receive printed student barcode labels from vendor After deadline they must be printed from the Secure Site  You cannot use printed barcode labels from the Secure Site for WIDA. Apply generic school label that is provided and bubble in student information on back of booklet.

Initial Material Orders Initial Material orders are done through the Secure Site  Materials for WIDA were based on students pre-identified and the tier selected.  SAT, PSAT, MI-Access FI, WorkKeys, and M-STEP standard materials are based on the number of students pre-identified and selected for paper/pencil testing (student demographic page)  SAT, PSAT, WorkKeys based on pre-ID as of 5:00 p.m., February 16  MI-Access and M-STEP based on pre-ID as of 5:00 p.m., February 26  SAT and PSAT accommodations are based on applications submitted and approved by College Board  WorkKeys, MI-Access and M-STEP accommodations ordered from the Initial Material Order page  WorkKeys deadline 5:00 p.m., February 16  MI-Access and M-STEP deadline 5:00 p.m., February 26

Additional Materials Schools will have an opportunity to order additional paper/pencil materials once initial materials have arrived in the schools Watch for dates and instructions for each assessment  SAT and PSAT will ordered through College Board  WorkKeys, M-STEP and MI-Access will be ordered through Secure Site  WIDA can currently be ordered through WIDA AMS

Accountable Students & Test Verification The screens will be changing but the functions will be the same Opens a few weeks after testing Verification of Enrollment  The district MSDS person will need to be involved in this process  The ability to view a list of students showing enrolled in the school in Michigan Student Data System (MSDS)  These students will be used to determine the school and districts Scorecard  Last chance to fix or update the MSDS with new enrollments, exit and student demographics  This is available for grades K-12 students identified as LEP in MSDS for WIDA testing

Accountable Students & Test Verification Verification of Enrollment continued  This is available for grades 3-8 and 11 students for the M-STEP, MI- Access, SAT and WorkKeys  PSAT will not be used for accountability calculations for there will not be a verification of enrollment for PSAT 9 and 10 for Spring 2016  Last opportunity to update student demographics, exit and enrollment information in MSDS for assessment and accountability purposes  Accountability will not accept appeals on Scorecard for information that could have been fixed

Accountable Students & Test Verification Verification of Answer Documents  The ability to view the paper/pencil and online answer documents that have been received by the contractor  Submit Missing Test Issues  Submit Move issues if student is showing in the incorrect school  Appeal prohibitive behavior  Appeal nonstandard accommodations  Last opportunity to report answer document issues or appeals  This will be available for WIDA, PSAT, SAT, WorkKeys and M-STEP

Accountable Students & Test Verification Verification of Not Tested  Students listed are from the accountable students list and matched with answer documents received  Select a Not Tested reason for each student that did not take any of the required state assessments  Required federal reporting and possible accountability exemption  This will be available for WIDA, SAT, WorkKeys, M-STEP and MI- Access  PSAT will not be used for accountability for spring 2016, so this will not be available for PSAT
