7 7 Fall Assessment Opportunities  Allow assessment of standards and benchmarks through the previous year  Shift the focus of State assessment to its original purpose:  An aid to the improvement of instruction  With timely results delivered to teachers for their current students  Meet federal requirements of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act

8 8 OEAA Enhancements  Options districts may select to help in the assignment of grade 3 through 8 students to the correct schools and grades for fall 2005 MEAP and MI- Access Pre-ID  Several enhancements to the OEAA secure system to aid in the movement and assignment of students

9 9 Options for Pre-ID  Option A – Districts use their own system to assign students to expected schools and grade levels for fall 2005, then load a data file into the OEAA secure system  Option B – Districts access spring 2005 SRSD and use the OEAA secure system to move students into expected schools and grade levels for fall 2005

10 10 Options for Pre-ID  Option C – The State will load student Pre- ID into schools and grades based on a comparison of a District’s end-of-year 2004 and fall 2004 SRSD submissions. Then the District uses the OEAA secure system to move students as needed. This option is only available in cases where OEAA data specialists have been able to identify projected destination schools.

11 11 Pre-ID Schedule – Option A By April 25Districts return Response Form selecting option for Fall Pre-ID By July 29Districts load their own data file to obtain Pre-ID answer documents July 30 through Sept 19 Districts add students through OEAA secure system to obtain pre-printed labels Sept 20 through testing cycle Districts continue to add students to OEAA secure system to print labels on site

14 14 Letters and Forms  Last week - letters were mailed to LEA and ISD Superintendents, and to Public School Academy Directors and Authorizers introducing the fall 2005 MEAP and MI-Access Pre-ID Process  Included was a Response Form for Fall 2005 OEAA Pre-ID options

16 16 Options: Two or Three?  Districts received a letter and response form with either two options (A & B) or three options (A, B, &C)  The third option was only available in cases where OEAA data specialists were able to identify projected destination schools

20 20 Pre-Identified Student Report  Users can now run a combined Pre-Identified Student report for MEAP and MI-Access test cycles  Report now includes all demographic information for the student

21 21 Pre-Identified Student Report  Useful report to identify students that are correctly assigned to the test cycle  Help and printing instructions are located at the top left hand corner of the report

22 22 Pre-ID Mass Update Allows users to:  Move a selected group of students to a different building (district users only)  Change grade for a selected group of students

23 23 Pre-ID Mass Update  Assign or unassign a selected group of students from a test cycle  Select or change the test subject that will be taken (most useful for high schools students who are retesting) for selected group of students

25 25 Pre-ID Mass Updates  Click on PreID Mass Updates from the menu at the left  Select the ISD, district, school, test cycle and grade from the drop down menus  You can filter your search by selecting all students, unassigned or assigned students

26 26 Pre-ID Mass Updates  Click the Search button at the top right  Screen will display a listing of students that match your search criteria Note: Update Fields section is now displayed.

28 28 Pre-ID Mass Updates  Select the field to update in the Updated Field section for a selected group of students  Select the student by clicking in the select box in the first column to the left of the student’s name  Click the Save button just above the Updated Field section to the right

29 29 SRSD Copy  Allows users to pull up a list of students submitted on the available SRSD file to assign to a test cycle and/or different building (if a district user).  Date of most current available SRSD is located at the top left of the screen.

30 30 SRSD Copy  Anything that you do in this screen does not change or affect your SRSD file that was submitted to CEPI. Changes only occur on the secure OEAA website.

32 32 SRSD Copy  Click on SRSD Copy from the menu at the left  Select source grade, ISD, district, destination test cycle and destination grade (all required)

33 33 SRSD Copy  Select destination school if different from your source school (district users only)  You can also filter for special education students if desired

34 34 SRSD Copy  Click the search button at the top right  List of students matching your search criteria will be listed  Select students by clicking on the select box in the first column to the left of the student’s name  Click on the Save button at the top of the student list to the right
