Senior Activities Record and Reminders Grade 12 October 20, 2015

You Will Update the Activities Record  What is it (reminder)?  A record of your activities throughout High School  Why should I do it?  You are officially a senior in high school. You will use this to update your résumé, complete scholarship applications, and request letters of recommendation.  This paper will remind you of your GREAT accomplishments, the clubs and activities in which you’ve participated, and your volunteer work. If you’ve kept it up-to-date, this will be a useful document.  Where?  This paper should be in your advisory folder right now.

Update Your Activities Record  Find your Activities Record in your Advisory Folder  Please take a few minutes to update this now.

Reminders  Attendance  Please take a moment to check-in with your advisor and make sure you know the number of absences you have. Many of you are already at ten absences.  GET TO SCHOOL!!!!  Grades  Next semester, you need to pass all of your classes to walk at the graduation ceremony, please don’t forget that! Any senior who fails English 12 this semester will be in serious danger of not graduating. FBHS does not offer first semester English 12 in the second semester. Check your grades, do your homework, and get to class.  Second semester, if you earn an “NC” (no credit) in any class because of attendance, you will not walk at graduation. This includes ADVISORY class.

Tasks for Seniors These Days  Senior Central – please check the FBHS web page for senior dates to remember. Senior portraits are due November 6.  Scholarships – keep checking the scholarship page off the FBHS web page. New scholarships will be added every week.  SAT/ACT – be sure you’ve taken the SAT or ACT if you plan to apply to a four-year university. You can’t get accepted into a four-year school without this test.  College Applications – CSU application window is officially open and the UC application window will open November 1. Be sure you speak to your counselor and get your applications and test scores submitted ON-TIME!
