Your Résumé It’s a living document……… Senior Advisory – November, 2014

Find Your Résumé We covered résumés in advisory during the month of January during your junior year. It should be in your advisory folder or maybe even eBackpack. Your résumé is a one page of summary of your high school courses, grades, academic honors, extracurricular activities, sports, work experience, volunteer work and special skills.

Why is it Important? Keep track of your education and work experience Recognize your skills, interests and accomplishments Make informed college and career choices Feel good about yourself and what you have done This will be the cover page of your senior portfolio! Your résumé is due December 5, 2014 – typed with a printed copy in your advisory folder. You must have a completed résumé in your advisory folder or you will earn an “NC” in advisory at the semester.

Ways to Use a Résumé Right Now It’s time to have your résumé so you can provide a copy to writers of letters of recommendation. It’s time to use it for scholarship applications. Perhaps it’s time to use it for jobs and career.

Update Your Résumé If yours has been misplaced ask your advisory for a template and start over. Otherwise update your résumé from January. Use your activities record in your advisory folder. Have fun – you get to brag a little.
