Doghouse start Mrs. Hallman – Project lead the Way

We are going to start with our house’s body. 1.Open inventor 2.Open a new document 3.Open a standard.ipt First shape –cube. 1.Click on create 2D sketch 2.Click on your xy – plane – front 3.Use your rectangle tool 4.Dimension the rectangle to no wider than 8”by 8”. (see picture) 5.Click on the green check that says finish sketch. 6.Click on extrude 7.Extrude your shape to what you want (see picture) 8.Press enter.

First addition – roof 1.Right click On the front of your shape. (see picture) 2.Select new sketch from the menu that pops up. 3.Select your line tool. 4.Draw how you want your roof to look. (see below picture) 5.Dimension it. 6.Click Finish Sketch. Extruding -- roof 1.Click extrude 2.Select direction 2 to extrude over your box. 3.Press enter.

Cut out– shell 1.Rotate your house so you are on the bottom view. 2.Click the shell tool. 3.Click on the bottom face 4.Enter.125” (see picture) 5.Press enter 6.Go back to your home view. Cut out– door 1.Rotate your house to the side you want your door. 2.Right click on the face select new sketch 3.Use your line tool to draw your door. 4.dimension 5.Click finish sketch.

door– extrude and cut 1.Click on extrude 2.Select the shape you cut out for your door. 3.In your extrude menu find this button. 4.Click on the down arrow. 5.Select cut. (see picture) 6.Be sure to change the depth so it doesn’t cut all the way through your shape. 7.This can be repeated for windows. The rest is up to you. To add something click on a face and add a sketch. You can cut or add with these tools. Remember your requirements. Have fun.
