Claude Elwood Shannon Warren Weaver

 Claude E Shannon, an engineer at Bell Telephone Laboratories & Warren Weaver worked together on an article titled The Mathematical Theory of Communication (1949).  Quickest & most efficient way to get a message from one point to another.  How communication messages could be converted into electric signals most efficiently?  How these signals could be transmitted with minimum error?  Mechanical & Mathematical model.

 Message transmission involves sending information through electronic signals.  Information defined as ‘a measure of one’s freedom of choice when one selects a message’.  Communication broadly defined as ‘all of the procedures by which one mind may affect another’.

 Source (sender)  Encoder  Message  Channel  Noise  Decoder  Receiver  Feedback
