4  Interference (also known as noise)  Anything that may interfere with the reception or understanding of a message  Can be internal or external  Receiver  The person or thing who receives the message from the sender

5  Decode  The process of analyzing a message to extract meaning from it  What the receiver understands or interprets from a message  Feedback (also known as response)  Receiver’s response to the sender about his/her message  Can be verbal or nonverbal
