Grading Guidelines Daily grades will account for 50% of the report card and major grades will account for the other 50%. Late work is penalized 10 points a day. Projects will be assigned with a due date and late points will be deducted the day after.

Conduct Conduct is recorded in the Conduct Book The Wednesday Folder is reflective of your child’s behavior for the week before. Conduct grades are figured based on the following scale per 9 weeks. 0-7 marks E 8-16 marks S marks N 24 or more marks U

WORK HABITS Work Habits are recorded in the Conduct Book The Wednesday Folder is reflective of your child’s work habits for the week before. Work Habits grades are figured based on the following scale for 9 weeks. 0-3 marks E 4-7 marks S 8-11 marks N 12+ marks U

Planner The planner is an important tool for organization and communication. It should be signed on Wednesday when the Wednesday folder is signed. Help your child plan goals for the following week. Replacement cost is 5 dollars.

STAAR Fourth grade students will take STARR Reading, Writing, and Math STAAR Writing will be on April 1st and 2 nd STAAR Math and Reading -April 22nd & 23rd

Dress Code Please be sure that students are dressed appropriately for the weather. Students should wear tennis shoes for PE. Shorts should come to the middle of the thigh. Biker shorts not permitted.

Tesch Homeroom Schedule Library is every other Monday. Students attend P.E. classes on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Music classes are on Monday and Tuesday Art class is every Wednesday.

Jessie Homeroom Schedule Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday are P.E. days. Students attend Music class on Tuesday and Thursday. Library Day is every Monday. Art Class is every other Monday.

Wunderlich Farm Fourth graders take a field trip to the Wunderlich farm which is located on the campus of Doerre Intermediate on October 30, You can read about the first settlers in our area by visiting the Klein website and clicking on the Klein Heritage link.Klein Heritage

Homework Reading is assigned on an ‘as needed basis’. Monday – Thursday there are short spelling, reading, and writing assignments. Our homework guideline is 10 minutes per grade level. So in fourth grade, homework should take NO LONGER than 40 to 45 minutes.

Academics There is a greater focus on content, especially in Science and Social Studies. Students should be studying these subjects on a regular basis, outside of school, as well as reading for pleasure for a short period of time each day. When major tests are to be given, students are given several days notice, as well as a study guide to help them go over the correct material

Parent Conference Day October 14, 2013 Conferences start at 7:30 a.m. Please have your questions and concerns ready. More information will go home two weeks before.
