IT DOESN’T DEFINE THE WAY YOU LEARN OR THINK. IT HELPS TO MAKE YOU AWARE OF HOW YOU PREFER TO LEARN. THE TEST EVALUATES PREFERENCES IN LEARNING. ALL 4 STYLES CAN BE DEVELOPED AND IMPROVED WITH SPECIFIC TASKS.

HOW THE TEST WORKS THE TEST IS BASED UPON LEFT & RIGHT SIDE OF THE BRAIN FUNCTIONS, AND UPPER AND LOWER BRAIN SECTION’S THINKING PREFERENCES. THE BRAIN CAN BE DIVIDED INTO TWO DISTINCT SIDES: LEFT RIGHT THE BRAIN CAN BE DIVIDED INTO TWO DISTINCT SIDES: LEFT RIGHT THE BRAIN CAN ALSO BE SECTIONED IN TO UPPER AND LOWER HALVES.

THE TEST GAUGES PREFERENCES YOU HAVE FOR CERTAIN THINKING PROCESSES, AND LOCATES THEM IN ONE OF FOUR QUADRANTS. THESE RELATE TO THE THOUGHT PROCESSES IN THAT SECTION OF YOUR BRAIN. THE UPPER LEFT SECTION DEALS WITH THE RATIONAL PART OF OURSELF Analyser/Quantifier Is Logical, Critical and Realistic Likes Numbers Knows About Money Knows How Things Work THE UPPER LEFT SECTION DEALS WITH THE RATIONAL PART OF OURSELF Analyser/Quantifier Is Logical, Critical and Realistic Likes Numbers Knows About Money Knows How Things Work THE UPPER RIGHT SECTION DEALS WITH THE EXPERIMENTAL PART OF OURSELF Is Curious, Impetuous Plays, Infers Imagines, Speculates Takes Risks THE UPPER RIGHT SECTION DEALS WITH THE EXPERIMENTAL PART OF OURSELF Is Curious, Impetuous Plays, Infers Imagines, Speculates Takes Risks THE LOWER RIGHT SECTION DEALS WITH THE FEELING PART OF OURSELF Is Sensitive and Supportive Is Expressive, Emotional Touches a lot Talks a lot Likes to Teach THE LOWER RIGHT SECTION DEALS WITH THE FEELING PART OF OURSELF Is Sensitive and Supportive Is Expressive, Emotional Touches a lot Talks a lot Likes to Teach THE LOWER LEFT SECTION DEALS WITH THE SAFEKEEPING PART OF OURSELF Takes Preventative Action Establishes Procedures Gets Things Done Is Reliable and Neat Organises and Plans THE LOWER LEFT SECTION DEALS WITH THE SAFEKEEPING PART OF OURSELF Takes Preventative Action Establishes Procedures Gets Things Done Is Reliable and Neat Organises and Plans

THE TEST DOES NOT DEFINE THE LIMITS OF YOUR THINKING, BUT SHOWS YOU YOUR LEARNING PREFERENCES NO ONE AREA IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE OTHER. HAVING A LOW SCORE IN A SECTION DOES NOT MEAN IT IS A WEAKNESS. BEING EVEN IN EACH AREA DOESN’T MAKE YOU A BETTER THINKER, JUST BALANCED IN THINKING PREFERENCES. Does your learning style chart reflect how you think? How do your preferences link with what you consider your learning strengths? Are there any of your classes that do not suit your learning preferences in: content, structure, delivery. What techniques can you use to help you better understand/learn in these subjects?
