Probability and Statistics Mr. Walcutt E-110

Prerequisites Algebra 2

Instructional Materials The following are required to be brought to class every day: Three ring binder with college ruled paper YOU MUST HAVE A THREE RING BINDER Writing instrument Graphing calculator

You will find it beneficial to have colored pencils or markers. You will also at times need a ruler, protractor, and compass.

It will be to your benefit to have a graphing calculator for this class. I suggest a TI83 (because that’s the one I know the best). You most definitely will need a calculator of some kind. The calculator on your cell phone, however, will not be used in this class. If you use the calculator on your cell phone, your phone will be confiscated and returned to your parents or guardian.

The grade in this class will be determined on total points. Total points earned divided by total points possible. Your semester final will count 20% of your final grade.

Homework assignments will be due the Monday following. Homework is graded on completion. Each homework assignment is worth 10 points.

Generally there will be a project for each chapter. Some projects will be individual, some will be in groups. Projects will be worth 50 points each.

Major tests will be given at the end of each chapter. The test will be given in two parts, a Multiple Choice section and a Free Response section. Each section will take an entire class period, and each section will be worth 100 points.

You can expect between 30 and 45 minutes of homework NIGHTLY. In order to do well in this class it is imperative that you keep up your homework and keep a well organized notebook.

Late work will not be accepted!

Classroom Rules

No food or drink.

No headgear.

No sleeping in class.

You have assigned seats. Stay in them.

When I am speaking you are not.

You are responsible for keeping track of graded papers.

My desk belongs to me. So does the stuff in it. Stay out of my desk, I don’t go through your stuff.

The computer, the projector, the board, the pens belong to me. Leave them alone.

This is not a democracy. I am the boss. Get used to it.
