Time for Lunch! Created by Beth Vorhaus, (2014) Nashville, Tennessee: Team Tennessee, Tennessee Voices for Children A Scripted Story about Going to the Cafeteria

At lunchtime, my class eats in the cafeteria.

Some of my friends bring their lunch from home and some of us get our lunch in the cafeteria.

When we get to the cafeteria, we have to follow the rules just like we do in our classroom. Cafeteria Rules: Eat your own food Use good table manners Sit in your seat & talk quietly Clean-up after yourself

If we bring our lunch from home, we go sit at our table and wait for our friends to get their lunch. If we are getting our lunch from the cafeteria, we have to wait in line.

The cafeteria workers will tell us what is for lunch and then she can serve us or we can serve ourselves. Today’s Menu: or

We remember to say please and thank you to the cafeteria workers for making our food or serving us. Thank you! Please may I have some?

Once we have our food we can walk carefully to the table to eat with our friends.

Cafeteria Rules: Eat your food Show good table manners Stay in your seat Talk quietly Clean-up after yourself This is when it important to remember the rules….

When everyone has finished their lunch, we check around our space to make sure we have cleaned up our area. Then we line-up to walk back to our classroom.
