Differentiated Instruction Reaches and teaches all children through challenging and engaging tasks. Includes working with children in small groups, but allows time for individual assistance and mini-lessons appropriate for the whole class. Raises the bar and motivates all children to put forth their best effort and maximize their potential. All gifted students in 3 rd grade will be expected to participate in the advanced content curriculum in reading and mathematics. Primary goal is to meet the needs of all children academically, socially, and emotionally and provide a classroom environment where children feel connected, accepted, and successful.

Differentiated Instruction Content What do students need to know… assess knowledge and skills. Process Tasks assigned/strategies used with differing levels of support, challenge, or complexity. Products End results reflect what students have learned and can apply. Environment Places to work quietly and without distraction; other places for collaboration or meeting with teacher.
