Renfrewshire Council Modern Apprenticeship Programme

The council’s MAP has been in place for over 15 years Modern Apprenticeship Programme

In that time we have supported over 400 young people into employment with the Council Modern Apprenticeship Programme

Last year we recruited 48 additional MAs – the most in any one year Modern Apprenticeship Programme

This took the number of MAs employed to 78 – the most at any one time EVER Modern Apprenticeship Programme

Our MAP covers two areas - Office-based programme Craft / construction programme Modern Apprenticeship Programme

Office-based programme Available in a variety of areas – could include: Business Support Customer Service Human Resources Financial Services Document Solution Centre Housing Social Work Schools

Craft / construction programme Could be employed as a: Joiner Electrician Slater / roofer Plumber / gas engineer Painter / decorator Bricklayer Storesperson Horticulture / Green keeper Motor Vehicle Mechanic

What do we need? Entry Requirements Aged between 16 – 19 years old Resident within the Renfrewshire area PLUS Craft / Construction Programme 3 Standard grades at band 4 or above Office –based Programme 2 Highers at Band C or above

What do we look for? Personal Requirements Self-awareness; Self-motivation; Strong work ethic; Ability to work as part of a team; Committed to achieving an SVQ Level 3 qualification.

What do we offer? An attractive salary; A guaranteed opportunity to complete a MA and relevant occupational qualification; Individual Development Plan; A support officer who will offer additional support and assistance; The opportunity to shine and be recognised; An offer of a permanent position, should a post be available, on completion of their MA.
