Intel ISEF 2012 – Educator Academy 7 Intel ISEF Educator Academy South Korea team’s Reflection. Highlight what your team felt was the key learning from the Educator Academy 1. Importance of well-organizing regional science fairs to build up systematic-national networking. 2. Priceless value of ‘science culture’ which should be awared by all levels of students & teachers. 3. Excitement of science, it can be the same to all students. Which Shop Talks were the most beneficial for your team? 1. SciFest : Establishing and Maintaining a National Network of Science fairs (It showed excellent examples of domestic science fairs.) 2. InGenious : Motivating students for STEM studies (It pointed out how important it is to motivate students before all fair-processes.) 3. Ethical consideration while working with partners – Costa Rica exercise What types of Shop Talks were missing? 1. Some morning sessions, such as Jack Franchetti’s presentation was wonderful even though it wasn’t a shop talk. That kind of talk can be more enhanced next year. 2. Official time to talk with students could be very meaningful.
