Look at long-term (3-5 years) and short-term goals (1-2 years) Long term goals –Improve the quality of science/mathematics education for students & move away from rote-based/exam focused learning –Strengthen IRIS, as a way to motivate students towards research based learning –Teacher professional development for STEM –Incentivize students (consider for admission to reputed colleges) Short term goals –THIS YEAR: Widen net for entries (via better coordination with state fairs through NCERT and DST) –THIS YEAR: Improved visibility for IRIS (media coverage) –THIS YEAR: “Side shows” during IRIS - Arvind Gupta, etc. –THIS YEAR: More stakeholders (CSIR, Industry) - Stalls –1-2 YEARS: Couple NCERT teacher training with IRIS
