Plot Sequence of events Percy goes to the attic and asks Delphi about his destiny. Percy has a dream about two people fight and he thought it was Poseidon and Zeus. The Chiron sits down with Percy and Grover to talk about why Poseidon and Zeus are fighting. Annabeth decides she needs to help Percy go on his quest so he doesn’t get in to trouble.

Plot continued They leave on there quest Percy saw Mrs. Dodd and the furies on the bus. His friends and Percy are fighting the furies on the bus They bow up the bus and run.

Conflict A struggle between opposing forces. Internal conflict Percy is nerves and scared about going on the quest. Percy decided he didn’t care about Zeus and the thunder bolt. External conflict Zeus is trying to kill Percy. Annabeth told Percy to get off the bus but Percy wanted to help his friends.

Setting Where and When a story Takes place. Chapter 9 takes place in Chiron's office where Percy, Chiron and Grover were talking before he went on his quest. Chapter 10 takes place on a bus to New York.

Mythological allusions continued The oracle at Delphi is a place where people got to see your future. Percy goes in the attic and he sees a mummy and starts talking to it. Then the mummy turns into Delphi and he asks her about his destiny.
