Begin with the End in Mind: Learn About Our Class The teacher Class goals Behavior Management Subjects Homework Schedule Tardiness Lunch/Breakfast Getting help Questions?

My experience I’ve been teaching for 13 years. I have taught 4 th and 5 th grade. Fourth is my favorite grade to teach. My background I grew up in Somerset. I have lived in Bowling Green for 16 years. Received my Bachelor’s Degree from WKU in 2000, my Master’s Degree in 2003, and my Rank 1 in Get to Know Me

Be Proactive: Class Goals: Lincoln PRIDE Positive attitude Respect ourselves and others Independent thinkers and workers Dedicated to our school and community Excel in all we do

Behavior Management Plan We use a weekly behavior sheet to monitor student behavior. Students who continue to break a rule after a warning will receive a mark on the sheet. Each mark is worth 5 points off the conduct grade. Students will also walk a lap around the playground/miss 5 minutes of recess for each mark. Graded behavior sheets are sent home on Mondays. They should be signed and returned the next day. Students who continually show their Lincoln PRIDE will be rewarded! Star Student Good Citizen Super Citizen Prime Time Snack/Drink Extra Recess

Homework Most work will be done at school, however, any work assigned as homework is very important and expected to be completed to the best of the student’s ability. NOT BUSY WORK, but an extension/practice of classroom skills. Students MUST read for at least 20 minutes each night and record their reading on their reading log. Students who do not complete assigned homework will get marks on their behavior sheets.

Tardiness/Absences School starts at 8:00 A.M. and dismisses at 3:00 P.M. You are tardy if you get to school late or leave early. Running late? Check in at the school office before coming to class. If you are absent more than 2 days, I will give you a call. Call the school if you know your child will be out several days. Always send a doctor’s excuse.

LUNCH/BREAKFAST Our lunch time is 10:55 – 11:20 Please feel free to join your child for lunch. However, please keep in mind that food from restaurants is NOT ALLOWED. Lunch prices can be found in the LES Student Handbook. Also, if your child will be eating breakfast at school, please see that he/she arrives at an appropriate time so your child will not be late to class.

Dress Code Please use good judgment in dressing your child. Do not allow your child to wear any revealing clothing or anything that may offend others. The District Discipline Code and LES Handbook have more detailed information on the dress code. Any area covered by a swimsuit must be kept covered at school!
