Unit 12 Additional Evidence Charlotte Thompson

1.1 I can describe what types of information are needed. Logo Idea 1 I do not want this logo to be my final logo because I don’t like the image. Logo idea 2 I do not want this logo to be my final logo because I don’t like the colour. Logo idea 3 I WANT this logo to be my final logo because I like the image and the colour.

1.1 I can describe what types of information are needed. Address. I have added a address so everyone knows where Groove It is. Company name. I have included a company name so everyone knows what my company name is. Logo. I have included a logo so everyone knows what my logo is. Colour scheme. I have chose purple because it matches my logo. Name. I have included my name so everyone knows what my name is. Tel and . I have included this so everyone knows what my phone number and is. Business cards are used to give to people when you meet them. They can be a useful tool for a business because people can get in touch with you. Most business cards include a range of contact information such as name, , phone and address so that people who have been given the card can ring you. In my business card I included all of this information so that they know how to get in touch. I also included my name and job title so that they know who it is. Finally, I thought about the design carefully and made sure I choose a design which looked useful and a colour scheme which matched the colours in my logo so that they know which company it is.

1.1 I can describe what types of information are needed. Company name. I have added a company name so everyone knows what music company it is. Address. I have added a address so everyone knows where Groove It is. Tel and . I have added this so everyone knows what my phone number and is. Logo. I have added a logo so everyone knows what company it is. Letterheads are important so that the the person receiving the letter knows who it is from. If a company has letters sent out on headed paper then it shows that the company is professional. Letterheads should include logos, phone and . These things are important so that the person receiving the letter knows who it is. My letterhead included my logo and the design and colour scheme matched the ones on my business card. I did this so they know it looked more stylish. I also included a range of contact information so that they can contact me in a way suitable for them as not everyone has a phone or an address.

1.1 I can describe what types of information are needed. Newsletter Newsletters are important because they include a lot of articles which people can read. They are often free and are used to tell people about things they are interested in. A good newsletter should include a wide range of information so that the person reading it can read an article that is interesting to them. Newsletters should also include titles so that the person knows what they are reading. My newsletter included a range of articles which all included information. It also included page numbers and points of interest so that they know which order it’s in. Finally, it included a lot of information about my company such as my title, phone number and . I included this so that they know how to get in touch.

1.2 I can describe how to change page design and layout to increase effectiveness of a publication. Luxury I do not want this design to be my final design because it doesn’t go with my logo Herald I do not want this design to be my final design because I don’t like the blue colour. Photoscope I WANT this design to be my final design because I like flowers.

1.2 I can describe how to change page design and layout to increase effectiveness of a publication. Peach. I do not want this colour scheme because I don’t like the peach colour. Rain Forest. I do not want this colour scheme because I don’t like the green colour. Ocean. I do WANT this colour scheme because I like the colour purple.

Publisher has loads of templates which can be used to help design various documents like CV’s, posters and leaflets. Each template has layouts to help you create your own work in a simple and easy way. I chose to use the same template for all of my documents so they looked the same making my business look more professional. If one of my documents didn’t match then my work wouldn’t have looked as good and someone looking at my work might not realise that everything belongs to the same company. As well as the template and layout, I decided to use the same colour scheme so that everything also matched the colours of my logo. 1.2 I can describe how to change page design and layout to increase effectiveness of a publication.

2.3 Describe how copyright constraints affect use of own and others’ information. Copyright law means that it’s not right to copy someone else’s work and say it is yours. It is important to follow copyright law because if you don’t then you can get into trouble. In my work I followed copyright law by making sure that the articles I used in my newsletter were included in my resources document. By doing this I was able to proove I had the web link I got them from. I also followed copyright when creating my logo as the design came from vista print. I followed this by putting them in my source and store table.

2.4 I can describe which file format to use for saving designs and images..PUB – Publisher file, it includes lots of templates you could use like business cards, letters and newsletters. To make them suit your business you can edit the templates..PDF – Portable document format, it is portable because anyone can read it. It means you can look at files without having the software it was created on..JPEG/.JPG – Joint photographic experts group, it is the most common format and you can save pictures on it. It can save a picture on a camera as a JPEG. You can download a picture of the Internet as a JPEG..PNG – Portable network graphics, it saves pictures with a transparent background..PSD – Photoshop Document, you need to open the file with photoshop. They can be really big in size..TIFF – Tag Image File Format, is a common format for exchanging images between application programs, including those used for scanner images.

Publisher files can only be opened by people who have the publisher software. This means that if someone creates something using Publisher and sends it to someone who doesn’t have the software, they won’t be able to open it. This can be avoided if they save the publisher file as a PDF. PDF files mean that you don’t need a specific bit of software to open the file. This can be useful because they don’t need to purchase the software. A similar thing can happen with Photoshop files. If you don’t have the software then the file won’t open. This can be avoided if you save Photoshop files as an image. The most common image types are PNG, JPEG and TIFF. There are a few key differences between these types of image, these are mainly the quality and the size. In my work I saved my logo as a PNG because their files are small but the quality is good and they have a transparent background. 2.4 I can describe which file format to use for saving designs and images.
