My Dida project Review Multimedia Unit 2. Tell me a story. For 4-6 year olds. Written by Elizabeth Edwards ForwardBack

My Aim My aim was to create a animated storybook for a audience of my choice it had to contain ways of moving back or forward a page and had to consist of two different animated endings. I decided to make my story for 4-6 year olds, I did this by making my story simple to understand and contain a lot of pictures I also made sure the colours were bold and the font size was big, so it was easy for them to understand and read. ForwardBack

Planning I made an initial plan of which contained all of the tasks I had to do. I also filled in how long I had to do it and if I completed it at home or school. I then created a Gantt chart which I included dates on and I also filled it in two different colours one colour to show what I had planed to do and another colour to show that it had actually taken me less or more time to complete. My plan was very useful because it made sure I kept on track, it also highlighted what I had done and what there was left to do. ForwardBack

Test Users In class we had a day were we showed our storybooks, and while they were being shown we analysed each others work, by writing down comments on what was good and what could be done to improve them. This was very useful because we had a varied range of opinions so that we could make the changes necessary to improve our work. Below I have included a link with my test users comments. Improvements and changes Overall this project went well but if I were to do it again I would make some changes. I would start my eportfolio template before I started anything else, so I could update it as I was going along and not have to rush it at the end. I would also fill in my assets table as I went along because I forgot to do it which meant It took longer to do at the end when I could have been doing other things. ForwardBack

Assets Table This is a table that records all of the assets that I have used in my storybook from sounds to clipart. I have to fill in were I found it, which was usually Microsoft clipart because you don’t need to get permission so its a lot easier, I also used some primary sources which I created myself, I had to fill in if they were primary or secondary, give a brief description and say were I was going to use them. ForwardBack

Storyboard This is a description on how I am going to structure my story, and what each page will contain. I have decided were I am going to put each page and what the storyline for each page is, this allows me to go on to design the pages in detail and know what I am doing so I don’t have to think of new ideas. I have planned were I am going to put the scene selection page and how I am going to do it. ForwardBack

Proposal This is a brief overview of what my story is going to be about, It says who my target audience is. The characters I am going to have in my story What my beginning, middle will be about. And what my animated endings are going to be about. From making this proposal it has allowed me to make my storyboard, which I found extremely useful when I created my final story. ForwardBack

Storybook My final story has two different animated endings that the reader can chose from, it also has action buttons allowing the reader to go back or forward a page and access the scene selection page were they can chose any page in the story. My story is for young children, so it mostly consists of pictures and simple writing with bold and large fonts I have done this so it is easy for them to understand. ForwardBack

Project diary, Plan and annotations My project diary is what I fill in at the end of every lesson. I fill in what I have done that lesson and how I did it. I also fill it in on my Gantt chart at the same time this allows me to know what I have done and what I have left to do, if something goes wrong and it takes me longer I fill it in a different colour. I have annotated my final storybook, and I have written what each slide contains and how I did it. ForwardBack
