ECO-VET TOURISM DESTINATION AND GASTRONOMY COMEPTITION Szeged, Hungary 18 th -19 th April 2012

Contestants: In both categories six four-member international, British-Hungarian- Swedish partnership student teams are going to compete, representing the three partner institutions. Special Sandwich Bar category: six students with special educational needs, from Devon, Göteborg and Szeged. The competition is open to any other countries.

The venue of the competition: Hunguest-Hotels Zrt. Hotel Forrás, 6726 Szeged, Szent-Györgyi utca 16/24. Hungary (separate kitchen for preparation, fridges, tent with 5 open-air grill kits, separate display room for the dishes and the jury)

Deadline for Registration: January 31 st 2012 Registration fee: €60 / HUF per team member, which includes the following: ingredients for the grill competition equipment for preparing, cooking and serving the food packed lunch for the competitors for the Grill Competition Day participation in the Gala Dinner and the Awards Ceremony The registration fee must be paid by 15 th February 2012 the latest to the organiser’s bank account.

TOURISM DESTINATION CATEGORY 18 th April 2012, Jury: international (1 Burgardens, 1 Petroc, 1 Krudy, Chair: The Tourism Officer of the Mayor’s Office) Topics: country, region of tourism, city Teams: the same teams compete as in the grill category, each student wearing traditional national costume

Competition procedure: One member of each team gives a 15-minute presentation on one of the above topics with reference to their own country in the form of Power Point Presentation in front of the international jury and the professional audience. Awards: plaquette

GRILL CATEGORY 19th April 2012, Jury: international Blind Jury + Observing Jury (7 or 8 people) -Teams of 4 students (2 chefs, 1 pastry chef, 1 waiter)

Project aims to be implemented in the competition: - To fulfil the application requirements (international teams) -The integration of special needs students -Eco consciousness in food preparation

Rules and regulations Teams prepare a starter, a main course and a dessert out of the given basket of ingredients in 2+ 2 hours period according to the settled rules on multi-functional barbecue, 5 portions in an eco conscious way (efficiency of ingredient usage) Awards: Gold, Silver and Bronze qualifications and Special Awards
