Saturday, May 7, 2016 (10am to 3pm) Multi-Cultural Center 7500 Livingston Rd, Oxon Hill, MD 20745 How’s your adobo? Everyone is welcome! Come sample and cast a vote for the best Adobo Cook. Cost to sample & vote is $5 per person. Delicious desserts & drinks will be available for purchase. Do you have the best Adobo recipe? Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Association (LA FRA) Unit 4, supported by the Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) Branch 4 is in search of the Best Adobo Cook. This is an open competition, from home Cooks to restaurant Chefs--anyone can enter, but only one can be the Winner. Prize: $200 & Title: “2016 BEST ADOBO COOK” in the DC area. 2 Contest Rules: Adobo food tasting competition will be held at the Multi-Cultural Center, 7500 Livingston Rd, Oxon Hill MD on Saturday, May 7, 2016, 10am to 3pm. Open Entries; home-cooks, restaurant cooks and professional chefs are welcome. Entry fee is $25. One participant table and a sealed voting container will be issued to collect public casted votes. Cost to sample and to cast one vote for the “Best Adobo recipe” is $5. Voting ends at 2:45pm. Set-up is at 9am and clean-up starts immediately following the end of the competition, around 3pm. Please try to be on-time, no special consideration will be provided for late arrivals—be present to ensure public judging of your adobo recipe. Food preparation must be done outside the Multi-Cultural Center and ready to serve between 10am to 2:45pm. LA FRA Unit 4 will provide sampling container (bowl/plate and spoon). Each public paying judge must pay $5 to cast one vote; a token/card will be provided, to be placed in the cook’s/chef’s container that they deem having the best tasting adobo. Adobo dish will be served and presented in small one-bite / spoonful sampling, with or without condiment, or side. Adobo recipe will not be regulated. One can prepare adobo with meat protein, vegetable or combination. It can include rice, pasta or neither—the choice is the cook/chef participant, but the vote is by public preference. Based on the tally of the paying public judges--there will only be one declared winner. Voting ends at 2:45pm in order to tally the votes and prepare the winner’s presentation. Cash Prize is $200 that will be issued at the end of the competition.
