Extended Award in Employability Skills Session One Planning for Progression

Aim of the Programme The aim of this programme is to develop your skills in employability and to gain a qualification to reflect your achievement. The qualification you will achieve is the City and Guilds Extended Award in Employability Skills.

Overview of the Programme - Sessions 1 and 2 Session 1 1.Understanding what you need to learn 2.Planning and reviewing your learning Session 2 1.Identifying your possible job roles/career choices 2.Searching for a job 3.Creating job alerts 4.Creating a CV

Overview of the Programme - Sessions 3 and 4 Session 3 1.Describing effective interview techniques 2.Preparing for an interview Session 4 1.Completing an application form 2.Practicing your interview skills 3.Reviewing the programme

Session 1 - Learning Objectives By the end of this session you will: 1.Identify your learning needs and goals by completing an initial assessment and diagnostic. 2.Identify personal strengths needed for learning and work. 3.Say what your personal job goals are. 4.Create a plan to improve specific skills. 5.Identify employment and learning opportunities.

In the event of a fire go to the nearest fire exit then proceed to the fire assembly point and await further instructions by Fire Wardens. If you have an accident whilst in the centre notify a member of staff. Follow any safety instructions located around the building and report any issues to staff.
