 Elizabeth Blackwell was born in England on February 3 in 1821 and died on May 31, She was born in Bristol (England), the third of nine children of Blackwell, a refiner of sugar, growing up in a family with sufficient financial capacity to pay for education to all children.

 She started working in the sugar refinery with her father when she was very small. After the death of his father, she began to study medicine, wishing to engage in medical practice. Ten universities rejected her request until she was admitted to local Geneva (New York)

 Elizabeth Blackwell is famous because it was the first woman to practice medicine in the United States and worldwide, she also was the creator of demonstrations that will be dealt women better. When she obtained her medical degree exerted at a hospital in New York and was regarded as a heroine of her time
