Recommendation JAINA Committee Structural Proposal

Committee Mission/Vision: Clear documented charter and mission and vision (SMART)  Specific, Measureable, Attainable, Reasonable, Timely Deliverable based 6 month, 1 year and 2 year plan Budget and fund raising plan

Committee Configuration Minimum of 4 members must be in each committee At least two of the members must have strong skills in internet, , etc. One person must coordinate all outgoing communication including status

Reporting Submit on-line as a minimum quarterly update on the status of various projects Evaluate contribution of each member of the committee every year

Recommendation Funding / Collection Sharing % of Proceeds with JAINA General Fund  Current constitution: 3%  As more services are enabled 2009/10: 10% 2011 and beyond: 15%

Recommendation JAINA Directors Training, Support Roles and Responsibilities

102 NA Directors 1, 2, or 3 from each Center/Sangh/Organization Nominated by Jain Center Only Directors who are appointed by their Jain Center can be on JAINA EC

Director’s Role Advocate  JAINA in their local Jain Center  Jain Center in JAINA Recruiting volunteers Fund raising “Customer service (CRM)” Taken on and deliver on projects

Director’s Training JAINA Constitution Educate on the Jain’s Global Role and Mission Committee Staffing opportunities JAINA-JainLink  Local Rep

Deliverables Quarterly Reports to Jain Digest and Jaina Nurture, Mentor and Inspire new leadership.

October 09 Review JAINA’s Vision2020 Goals Conference Call: Participate in Director’s call (TBD date) Share - begin asking your local members what needs they have from JAINA Start brainstorming on a Project: 50 hour duration project that will benefit all of the Jains in North America. Put a local team together and execute on the project. For project ideas see Project link on the main page.

November 09 - Give a talk at your local Jain Center about JAINA US and its plan for the next one year and about the project you are undertaking and your plans for the next one year - Include the Elevator Pitch in your local center newsletter (see Resources) - Conference Call: Participate in Director’s call (TBD date) - Update on-line information - Finalize your project and post it - Post local news on Jainlink Blog

December / January - Finish 50% of your project - Join monthly conference call - Review your local JainLink address and help remove duplications - Find and post on blog Jain Person of the month from your center - Send 2 photos from your local Jain Center to highlight on JAINA page
