Do: Have some glitz (bright colourful things). Don’t: Have to much glitz. To much colour can make a website hard to look at.

Do: Have a font that can be read my all kinds of people. Don’t: Have a font that is hard to read. Especially the cursive fonts.

Do: Keep all of your text boxes and pictures lined up. Don’t: Just place boxes everywhere. You should really think of were your placing something before you place it.

Do: If your site has adds, make sure they go with your website. Don’t: Have adds that have no relevance to your theme and never have pop-up adds.

Do: Have a description of what your website is about. Don’t: Have paragraphs about your website. Try to keep all of your website’s information on in one paragraph.

Do: Update your website often. Don’t: Have out of date information.

Do: Have colour but keep it simple. Many web sites use the 60/40/10 rule, which is 60% of a base colour 40% of a secondary colour and 10% of a complimentary colour. This makes for a very clean website. Don’t: Have an overly large amount of colour.
