Research a topic Find a topic that is of interest to you Minimum 10 slides of information are required (Excludes Biography and Link at end of your presentation) Keep track of all sites you use for your information. You will need a bibliography. Be absolutely sure what you want to focus on and research. Find your information first before you make the PowerPoint

3. Making the PowerPoint Add pictures Use themes and backgrounds, Wordart, fonts Use subject headings, bullets, numbers using the bullets feature, subheadings, formatting (centre, left, right) Include topics and subtopics Include a title page, bibliography and conclusion Insert pictures and an animated GIF from clipart It must include a table or chart Create custom transitions for each slide Must contain custom animations

4. More Include different fonts, font sizes and types (bold, underlined italic) Include a SmartArt graphic (more on this later)

5. Slide Styles Go to the Design tab to select a variety of styles You can select a pre-made style Choose from a variety of background styles Custom colours, fonts and effects

6. Basic Tools Text format Bullet points Shapes

8. Text Boxes Text boxes help you keep your text in a certain area (the box). Click on the Text Box button to create one Below is a text box. You can pull on the white circles to change the shape, and move around the green circle to change its orientation You will have to make and edit these in your presentation

9. Heading Subheading Headings and Subheadings

10. Add a Header and Footer Not every slide needs one, but you do need to add one in.

11. Transitions Under the Transitions tab, you can control how the presentation looks when it changes slides. Transition style How long the transition takes Advance to next slide with the mouse or after a certain time. Make it be a certain time.

12. Tables and Charts You will have to insert one of these Located under “insert”

13. Custom Animations Under the Animations tab are a variety of animations you can choose from. We will use some of these. You will also make some custom ones. More info on that next!

14. Animations When you go to the animations tab, you will have to click on this thing: One you have done that, click on any object, text box, etc. to allow you to add effects to it!

15. Create a custom Path Click on “Add Animation” Scroll down and find this one:

17. A more advanced graphic: Now we will add a “Trigger”, which will make the table appear only when the title on this slide is clicked.

18. Your Triggers options All the things that are in your slide are listed

19. Creating a Bibliography If no author, begin the citation with the page’s title.

20. NEXT!!!! You will create another slideshow that is only 4 slides long It will focus on a subtopic related to your main presentation Include a title and a link back to your first PowerPoint Include headers and footers Include a picture

21. Making a Hyperlink Right-click on any text, graphic or text box Select the Hyperlink option, and select your other presentation

22. SmartArt Graphic These things let you make nice-looking charts Go to the Insert tab at the top of the toolbar and select SmartArt Select a graph type and add info for your Presentation.

23. Marking Guide Look at the marking guide to make sure that you have included everything in your presentation Don’t forget to do the reflection after!
