Presentation transcript:

Go to your school’s web locker site school name.schoolweblockers.com) Your user name is the first letter of your first name, the first four letters of your last and your student ID. So John Smith with the ID# 2222 would be jsmit2222 Your password is the same

This is your home page. You will see all the classes you are enrolled in as well as your home directory. First, click on My Profile over on the left hand side of the page.

Click on home. Once again you will see all the folders for the classes you are enrolled in and your home directory. The home directory is private and cannot be viewed by others. Please click on the home directory. In the home directory, you have the ability to upload files, download files, and delete files. Let’s practice. Click on the browse button, choose a file, and click the upload button. The file should now appear below. You can organize your files by the date they were uploaded, file size, or file name.

Let’s turn in an assignment to the teacher. Find that file in your home directory. Now click on the box to the left of the file name. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “copy selected files.” A new window should open. Now find the class you wish to turn in the work. Click on the box to the left of the Homework Due folder. You can select as many classes as you want. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on copy files to selected folders. Now if you are finished, exit out of that window. You have now turned in the assignment to your teacher

In this home directory, you can create as many sub folders as you need to organize your work. To do this, click on add a directory, give it a name, and you now have a folder you can use for those particular files. Please note: when classes change, the folders are emptied out, but the home directory is not touched. Please be sure to save any files you may need throughout the semester, year, or years in your home directory or in a sub directory in your home directory.

Now click on My Classes over on the left hand side. This is a list of all the classes you are enrolled in. If your teacher has activated “teacher talk,” you will see a talk link towards the right hand side of the page. This is where you can have discussions with your teacher and other students in the class. The class only is a discussion with only the teacher and those enrolled in the class. The general is a discussion with the teacher and all the students enrolled in all the classes. Please note: Any inappropriate comments will result in you being locked out of the system.

Please click on Assignments over on the left hand side. Here you will see a folder for all the classes you are enrolled in. This is where you can see any assignments the teacher has posted for you. You just have to click on the appropriate class name. To view a file, click on the file name or download. If you are making changes to the document, make sure you “save as” otherwise the document is saved to a temporary internet folder that is difficult to find. In this folder, you only have the ability to download files. You can’t make changes to these files and re-upload them.

Now click on Homework Due. Once again you will see a folder for all the classes you are enrolled in. Click on the class folder you just turned the assignment to. You should see that document in the folder. This is your way of verifying the assignment made it to the teacher. This is also where you can upload finished homework. Simply click the browse button, find the file, and upload. Remember if you don’t have a copy of this in your home directory, at the end of the semester it will be erased. Any file in this folder is a file that has been turned into the teacher that the teacher has not yet graded.

Now if the teacher grades an assignment, it will be transferred to your graded assignments folder. Go ahead and click on the graded homework folder. You will see a list of all the classes you are enrolled in. Click on any of those classes. Anything in this folder is a file you have turned in that your teacher has graded. To view your grade, click on assessment. Here is where you will be able to see the grade you were given along with any comments the teacher has made. You have the ability to reply to the message if you have any questions about the assignment or grade.

Click on Assessments You can click on any of your classes. Here is also where you can see all the files that have been graded. They will be organized by the most recent response. So anything that was just graded will appear on top and any assignment you have replied to will be towards the top as well. You can also sort by file name and grade. To view what’s been said back and forth, click on the file name. Here is where you can also reply to the message.

Click on Message Boards This is where all the students and teachers in the whole school or district can communicate. Anytime something is posted, it is stamped with the person’s name, date and time. There’s a legend at the bottom of the page that is color coded based on position. There is also a topic that is for questions about the web lockers. Web Lockers staff check these message boards for any questions you may have about your locker.

Now click on Calendar You can only post things on your own calendar. You may see other items that the teacher has posted for you or that the administrators have posted for you. To view the details, click on the date. It will tell you what class it was posted from. To add an item, click on any of the dates, a new window will open for you, click add item. Make sure you check My Calendar and put in a subject line otherwise it won’t show up on your calendar. You can exit out of that window. Now click your refresh browser to view your new item.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Kelly Agrelius with School Web Lockers at or
