Group Home Page Explore the Command Center Adding Internet Web Links Posting “News” on your class pages Posting to the Edline Calendar. This is the Pawnee High School Teacher’s Group Home Page. Anything you post on this page is visible to all of your classes.

4 Group Home Page Navigation Bar Groups are simply an on-line version of the various organizations in your school. Groups are things like schools, teachers, classes, clubs, and sports. This is the Pawnee High School Teacher (Anita Kern’s) Group Home Page. Anything you post on this page is visible to ALL of your classes. You cannot really change anything on this page, however you can add contents to the “My Contents” shortcut box. A group is a place where people involved in a particular school, class, or activity can come to find out and share information about the group.

5 Shortcut Boxes This is the Pawnee High School Teacher (Anita Kern’s) Group Home Page. Anything you post on this page is visible to ALL of your classes. You cannot really change anything on this page, however you can add contents to the “My Contents” shortcut box. Shortcut boxes allow you to quickly view your own classes, activities, and personal documents. They also allow you to view this same information for any student you are linked to. There are three types of shortcut boxes: shortcuts to other people, shortcuts to documents (like gradebooks and upcoming tests), and shortcuts to classes and other groups.

6 Command Center This is the Pawnee High School Teacher (Anita Kern’s) Group Home Page. Anything you post on this page is visible to ALL of your classes. You cannot really change anything on this page, however you can add contents to the “My Contents” shortcut box. Your Command Center lists the special functions you can perform. If you are a teacher, a coach, or the supervisor of a club or other activity, you will see the options related to managing your group (class, activity, sport, etc.).

7 Contents Box This is the Pawnee High School Teacher (Anita Kern’s) Group Home Page. Anything you post on this page is visible to ALL of your classes. You cannot really change anything on this page, however you can add contents to the “My Contents” shortcut box. The Contents box contains important information about this group in the form of documents. Most documents are stored in folders to keep them organized. The name of each folder tells you what's inside. For example assignments are in the "Assignments" folder, grades are in the "Current Grades" folder, and so on.

8 Links Box The Links box contains links to other web sites that may be useful to members of this group. This is the Pawnee High School Teacher (Anita Kern’s) Group Home Page. Anything you post on this page is visible to ALL of your classes. You cannot really change anything on this page, however you can add contents to the “My Contents” shortcut box.

9 The News box contains documents like special announcements and important reminders that you want people to see right away. The most recently created or modified items are always listed at the top of the box. News Box To add, modify, or delete items in this box, use the "Edit" button at the top of the box. If you do not see the "Edit" button, that means you do not have permission to add items to the News box on this page.

10 The Calendar box lists the next five events from this group's calendar.
To add, modify, or delete events from the calendar, or to see the full calendar, click the "Edit" button at the top of the box. If you do not see the "Edit" button, that means you do not have permission to add items to the Calendar box on this page.

To add, modify, or delete items in this list, click the "Edit" button at the top of the box. If you do not see the "Edit" button, that means you do not have permission to add items to the Links box on this page. If you see a "More Links..." link at the bottom of the Links box, that means there are more items in the list than will fit in this box. Click this link to see the full list.

Step 1 Put the title you want to display on your class page in the “Document Title” Line. Step 2 Put the address of the web page you want to share with your class.

Step 3 Choose the class pages you want the web page to be displayed on Step 4 Click “Add”

Step 5 If you want to add a additional web sites at the same time…choose “Save and Add Another” If you are only adding one web site at this time…choose “Save and Return”

29 Adding “News” to Your Class Pages It will display under the Title.
Put the title you want to display in the News box on your class page in the “Document Title” Line. You may add a short explanation of the “News” in the Document Summary Box. It will display under the Title.

There are three ways to add content to the “News” Box.

31 Enter text just like a word processor.
1. Enter Text By Hand Enter text just like a word processor.

32 Enter Text By Hand If you want to add a picture or clipart, click “Choose” and click on the file you want to upload. You will want the “News” to open in a new window, put a checkmark in this box.

33 2. Import An Existing File
To Import an existing file…like MS Word, PDF, or Excel Documents, Click “Choose” and choose the file from your documents. Then Click “Import”

35 Tell the “News” Where To Post
No matter which of the 3 ways you choose to post your “News”, you must tell it on which class pages you want it to display. Choose the Class Pages you want the News to display. And Add all Classes that are to view the “News” “Save and Add Another” if you are only adding more than one “News” Item “Save and Return” if you are only adding one “News” Item

36 Posting to the Edline Calendar.
To Begin… Click “Edit”

To Add an event, assignment, test, or other items to the calendar… Click “Add”

38 Posting to the Edline Calendar.
Whatever you put here, will appear in the calendar. Choose the date of the calendar item here. You can also “Add Content” the same methods you add content to the “News” articles.

39 To Finish Posting to the Edline Calendar.
Again tell the Calendar what Class Pages will display the calendar. Add the Pages Be sure to Save and Return
