Go to your school’s web locker site http://mhs.schoolweblockers.com) Your user name is the first letter of your first name, the first four letters of your last and your student ID. So John Smith with the ID# 2222 would be jsmit2222 Your password is the same You will be prompted to change your user name and password to something you will remember

This is your home folder Your home folder is password protected. In the home folder, you have the ability to upload files, download files, and delete files. You can create as many sub directories as you'd like. Let’s practice. Click on the browse button, choose a file, and click the upload button. The file should now appear below. You can organize your files by the date they were uploaded, file size, or file name.

Let’s turn in an assignment to the teacher. Find that file in your home folder. Now click on the box to the left of the file name. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “copy selected files.” A window below should open. Now find the class you wish to turn in the work. Click on the box to the left of the Assignments Drop Box for that class. You can select as many classes as you want if you want to send the document to multiple teachers. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on copy files to selected folders. You have now turned in the assignment to your teacher

In this home folder, you can create as many sub folders as you need to organize your work. To do this, click on add a directory, give it a name, and you now have a folder you can use for those particular files. Please note: when classes change, the folders are emptied out, but the home folder is not touched. Please be sure to save any files you may need throughout the semester, year, or years in your home folder or in a sub directory in your home folder.

Now click on the My Classes tab at the top of the page. This is a list of all the classes you are enrolled in. If your teacher has activated “teacher talk,” you will see a talk link towards the right hand side of the page. This is where you can have discussions with your teacher and other students in the class. The class only is a discussion with only the teacher and those enrolled in the class. The general is a discussion with the teacher and all the students enrolled in all the classes. Please note: Any inappropriate comments will result in you being locked out of the system.

Please click on one of your class names. Here you will see a folders to get assignments teachers have posted, turn in documents to your teachers, and view your graded assignments. Now click on the Get Assignments button. This is where you can see any assignments the teacher has posted for you. To view a file, click on the file name or download. If you are making changes to the document, make sure you “save as” otherwise the document is saved to a temporary internet folder that is difficult to find. In this folder, you only have the ability to download files. You can’t make changes to these files and re-upload them.

Now click on the My Classes tab at the top of the page again. Once again you will see all the classes you are enrolled in. Click on the class name for the teacher you just turned the assignment to. You should see that document in the folder. This is your way of verifying the assignment made it to the teacher. This is also where you can upload finished homework. Simply click the browse button, find the file, and upload. Remember if you don’t have a copy of this in your home folder, at the end of the semester it will be erased. Any file in this folder is a file that has been turned into the teacher that the teacher has not yet graded.

Now if the teacher grades an assignment, it will be transferred to your graded assignments folder. Go ahead and click on the My Classes tab again and click on one of your classes. This time click on the Graded Assignments button. Anything in this folder is a file you have turned in that your teacher has graded. To view your grade, click on assessment. Here is where you will be able to see the grade you were given along with any comments the teacher has made. You have the ability to reply to the message if you have any questions about the assignment or grade. Just click on the Reply link.

Now go ahead and click on the Shared Folders tab. Here is where you will see all the Shared Folders you are associated to. This is where you will also find a training folder with training documents that will help you if you forget what each function does.

Now click on the E-Portfolio tab at the top of the page. This is your E-Portfolio. This is where you want to store the best of your best work. All teachers and administrators will be able to view your E-Portfolio. This works the same way as your Home Folder, but you can reflect on your work by commenting on individual files or your portfolio as a whole. Teachers and administrators can also comment on your documents or portfolio as a whole.

Click on My Profile over on the left hand side of the page. Here is where you can change your user name and password as well as add an email address, but only your teachers or school administrators will be able to view your email address.

Now click on Calendar link at the top of the page. You can only post things on your own calendar. You may see other items that your teachers have posted for you or that the administrators have posted for you. To view the details, click on the date. It will tell you what class it was posted from. To add an item, click on any of the dates, and the box to the right of the calendar will update. Make sure you check My Calendar and put in a title otherwise it won’t show up on your calendar. Once you click add calendar item, it should be added to the calendar.

Click on Message Boards at the top of the page This is where all the students and teachers in the whole school or district can communicate. Anytime something is posted, it is stamped with the person’s name, date and time. There’s a legend at the bottom of the page that is color coded based on position. Again be careful of what you post because if you post anything inappropriate you will be locked out of further discussion privileges
