Midway High School Basketball Expectations

Panther Basketball DO’s… Align Your individual Goals with TEAM GOALS Be a good teammate; encourage each other Take pride in your facilities (gym, locker rooms, buses, as well as other gyms and locker rooms) Play hard every practice, every game Be academically reliable Be an asset Represent US in a good way Be on time for all practices and games (No practice = No play) Attend all assigned tutorials

Panther Basketball DO’s Encourage your teammates in games and practices Keep jerseys tucked in at all times Cover all tattoos during GAMES! Wear only a school colored undershirts during games ex: Blue, White, or Red

Panther Basketball DON’TS Walk during practices Be a team distraction (you will NOT kill the team) Talk to officials! Miss practices or games for non- school/family emergencies without alerting your coach in advance

Panther Basketball DON’TS Steal from each other Have your parents call your coach to discuss playing time, YOU will earn IT! Earn a placement in ISS/DAEP Take off your practice/game jersey before Coach gives permission Abuse Teammates/Opponents/Coaches on Social Media sites per Board Policy - FFI

Panther Basketball DON’TS Wear flip flops on game days. Do Not Quit (your Midway career is OVER if you quit). NEVER wear any other COLOR shoes or socks during games. Only Red, White, or Blue.

Basketball Discipline Policy

Three Strike Policy 1 st Offense: Warning from Coach and athletic discipline 2 nd Offense: Athletic discipline and game(s) suspension 3 rd Offense: Dismissal from program. FOREVER!!!!

ISS and DAEP Placement Policy EACH day of ISS= One timed mile on track before returning to games or practices EACH day of DAEP= Two timed miles on track before returning to games or practices All DAEP placements will be reviewed by Coach Patton to decide when/if reinstatement can be earned CONTINUOUS DISCIPLINE ISSUES WILL RESULT IN INSTANT REMOVAL FROM PROGRAM!

Travel Policy Players Will Conduct themselves appropriately during all School related trips. Players who attempt to wear flip-flops to any game WILL NOT be allowed to travel

Travel Policy & Dress Code Be on time for all bus departures. We won’t WAIT! “Do rags” Will NOT be worn to any games All players and managers must be in athletic dress code on game day Varsity – Shirt & Tie (Home) & Collared Polo & Wind suits (Away) Sub Varsity – Program T-shirt & Jeans, (Home), Wind Suits/T-shirts (AWAY)
