Injector De-cabling Project Project Team Meeting #

Content Project mandate Information sharing Network codes Dashboard

Project mandate (I) Scope of the Project The de-cabling project scope is to identify and remove obsolete cables within the injector complex, until the end of LS2. The activities will be organized according to the following priorities and goals: First priority: PS Booster The identification of the obsolete cables in the PS Booster is the top priority, because of the needs for new cables for the LIU project. The following strategies will be studied in parallel to allow a decision to be taking on the strategy to be used at the PSB by September  Total removal of all cables: The project team will, in particular evaluate the cost, the time needed, possible schedules and the associated risks and benefits.  Partial removal (i.e. only obsolete cables): The project team will organize the identification of unused cables with the different stakeholders. The goal for a partial removal campaign is to remove at least 50% of existing cables. Once the strategy has been chosen, the deadlines are:  Labelling and disconnection: YETS  Removal of obsolete cables: EYETS

Project mandate (II) Second priority: SPS For BA5 and BA3, the objective is to identify respectively 50% and 40% of existing cables for removal, because of the congestion of the cable trays and the need to pull new cables. Moreover, the project team will have to closely follow the needs of the LIU project. The deadlines are:  Labelling and disconnection: YETS  During 2016, the project team will propose removal slots, taking into account the availability of resources and further needs of LIU project.

Project mandate (III) Third priority: PS, TT2, Linacs For the PS, TT2 and the LINACs, the project team will identify the obsolete cables. The deadline is:  During 2016, the project team will propose possible identification and removal slots, taking into account the availability of resources and further needs of LIU project.

Project mandate (IV) Mandate for the Project Leader The project leader will coordinate all the activities required for the identification, labelling, disconnection and removal campaigns. The project leader will regularly report to the IEFC progress and the issues encountered. Machine De-cabling Coordination Team The Machine De-cabling Coordination Team will coordinate the activities required for the identification, labelling, disconnection and removal campaigns for their machine.
