Power Point Basics *Have a basic idea of what information will be used! Click on existing boxes and begin adding text.

Add clip art by clicking: Insert, Picture, Clip Art

Add additional text boxes by clicking: Insert, Text Box (click on slide and type)

Add new slides by clicking: Insert, New Slide A rule of thumb: *ONLY 7 lines per slide *7 Words per line *Use a large Font (32+) *Use Sans Seriff Fonts (nothing too fancy) *Use contrasting colors

Quick Tips: for more effective presentations Looping: repeating the power-point over and over for students to look at –(good for word ppts. and daily instructions) Timing: amount of time each slide is shown –All slides/Separate slides Animations: movement on a slide Slide Designs: background Color Schemes: Changes colors of background and various elements of the slide show.
