THESE MANAGERS ARE HIGHLY INVOLVED IN THE DAY-TO-DAY WORK OF THE BUSINESS DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP THIS STYLE TENDS TO TAKE EVERYONE’S OPINION INTO ACCOUNT TO ACHIEVE A CONSENSUS BEFORE MAKING A DECISION. THIS STYLE PROMOTES TRUST AND HARMONY BUT CAN BE FRUSTRATINGLY SLOW DIRECTIVE LEADERSHIP SIMILAR TO WHAT CAN BE CALLED AUTOCRATIC, DIRECTIVE MANAGERS DO NOT TYPICALLY SOLICIT EMPLOYEE INPUT, OFTEN CITING SHORT TIME FRAMES TO MAKE DECISIONS WHEN LOSS OF CONTROL MAY ULTIMATELY BE THE REASON.

MANAGERS USUALLY ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE FEELINGS OF EMPLOYEES BUT WILL NOT PLACE THE EMPLOYEE ABOVE THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE COMPANY PARTICIPATORY LEADERSHIP BASED ON A COACHING PHILOSOPHY, THIS STYLE FOCUSES ON EMPOWERING EMPLOYEES TO SEEK THEIR OWN KNOWLEDGE AND MAKE THEIR OWN DECISIONS. SERVANT LEADERSHIP THIS STYLE IS BASED UPON FINDING THE MOST TALENTED PEOPLE TO RUN AN ORGANIZATION AND THEN EMPOWERING THOSE PEOPLE TO DO THEIR BEST. THE LEADER SEES THEMSELVES AS A SERVANT TO THE CUSTOMER.

MORE MANAGEMENT STYLES… TASK ORIENTED LEADERSHIP LEADERS USING THIS STYLE ARE TYPICALLY EXCELLENT AT PLANNING, ALLOCATING RESOURCES AND ASSIGNING ROLES, SETTING BENCHMARKS AND HOLDING TO A DEADLINE. CHAOTIC A MODERN STYLE OF MANAGEMENT WHICH GIVES EMPLOYEES TOTAL CONTROL OVER THE DECISION MAKING PROCESS AUTOCRATIC A STYLE WHERE THE MANAGER MAKES THE DECISION WITHOUT REGARDS TOWARDS SUBORDINATES, AS A RESULT DECISIONS WILL REFLECT THE PERSONALITY OF THE MANAGER.
