* go to intranet get list of advisees username:teamwork password: atc1122

click on [Banner Web Reports] username: cis_inf1 (your username may be different if in different department) password: help1519

click on the 2nd item in the list, program_stu.sql click first on the down arrow, then scroll down and select the appropriate quarter. We will use then click RUN REPORT

When the report appears, hold down the left CTRL key on your keyboard and tap the letter A, then tap the letter C. This will select the whole report and copy it into the clipboard. Now release the CTRL key.

Press the “Windows” key (or start Word any way you like) select / start Word. After Word opens in a new document, hold down the CTRL key and tap the V key, release the CTRL key. This will paste all the names and information into the word document.

Click the File menu, click “Save As” select where you want to save the file giving it an appropriate file name.  I create a directory / folder specifically for advisement, and inside that I create a specific folder for each quarter, listed by number. I name my file CSL_200603_CIS (CSL= current student list).

 You may find the list is centered justified. To left justify the list, hold down the left CTRL key, tap the letter A to select the whole document, release the CTRL key, and click on the Align Left button on the Formatting toolbar.

Click anywhere on the document to deselect. Now to cut your advisees from entire list and save in word. The list is alphabetized by program of study. The idea is to start at the top, click to the left of the first student listed to select the whole row AND KEEP HOLDING THE LEFT MOUSE BUTTON DOWN!!

Using the scroll button on the mouse (or the down arrow) scroll down until you reach a student in any program that you advise. Then release the left mouse button and Hit the DELETE key. This removes students that to that point in the document you do not advise.

Repeat until all that remains is the list of students you advise. Save the file! Now you have your advisees, their student ID number, and the program they should be taking courses in!
