For the week of September 21st: Monday: Spelling - write words 3 times each– just spelling words – not vocabulary words. Math – pgs Tuesday: Spelling – ABC Order – write spelling words in ABC order (not vocabulary words) Math – pgs Wednesday: Math – pgs Spelling – sentences – use the 15 spelling words in sentences (not vocabulary). Please underline the spelling word and more than one word can be used in a sentence. Thursday: Math – pgs Spelling – practice test/study for test on Friday – have someone give you a pre-test in your journal to help study for test Friday: No Homework

Notes: 1. Please make sure that the students are reading every night and that their bookmark is filled out and returned the next day. 2.Please remember that only math homework is due the next day. Spelling and all other homework is not due until Friday. You do not have to send in their spelling journals until Friday. 3.Please make sure that you either send in the seat sacks from last year (if you have one) or purchase one through the office ASAP. 4. Please return the paper at the end of the 2 nd grade handbook stating that you have read and understand the information that is contained in it. 5. Please make sure your child has a snack every day. We do not have lunch until 12:15 and we usually have a snack around 9: We have started writing our assignments. Please make sure that you look at and initial the homework so that I know you have seen it. Reminders: September 25 th – Reading and Spelling Test October 16 - First Quarter Book Report – See 2 nd grade handbook for guidelines and book report form. I sent home another copy for this week. Also, the book must be an Accelerated Reader book and they will have to take the AR quiz for the book. October 23 – Flat Stanley Letter with addressed envelope and stamp included. I will send home a copy of a blank friendly letter template if you would like to use it to write the letter. Please have your child write a letter to someone in their family or friend asking them to take Flat Stanley around the place they live and send information back to them so that they can make a poster. Please address the envelope with the person’s address and a stamp.
