Arrowhead School Message Principal Update Staff Happenings

Arrowhead PTA Legislative Role Purpose:  PTA is first and foremost an advocacy organization supporting children, teachers, and parents PTA Unit Responsibilities:  To inform and NOT persuade –  Using available medias (newsletters, websites etc.)  Follow guidelines (e.g. Kid mail carries specific rules)  To help WA State PTA set Legislative voice  Using surveys to ascertain Arrowhead (parents and teachers) voice  Attending Legislative assembly to represent AH voice.  Participate in Focus Day Rally in Olympia  Entire state PTA comes together on this day  Rally for increased education funding more than pushing for specific bills.

Committee Reports & Announcements Social Services  Woodin Elementary School Thank You Green Team for Earth Week Earth week is Monday April 17 through Friday April 23 School Dance  Friday, April 22 nd. The theme is Pop Stars! Staff Appreciation Week  May 2 through May 6

New Business/Items for Discussion Donation to Lindsey Orser Memorial Fund All proceeds to support students at Arrowhead

New Business/Items for Discussion (Cont’d.) Art Auction Funds Discussion GOAL: clearly show how funds from the Art Auction will be used to support the arts Art Auction at Arrowhead’s Art Night is primarily intended to raise funds to support art education at Arrowhead. The Art Night Committee facilitates high quality, classroom created art pieces which will be auctioned on May 17, Proposal (after all expenses are paid)  First $1,000 Refund art night/art auction budget line item  Next $1,400 will be allocated to Arrowhead staff ($200 per grade) for use toward Art Education. Art Education funds will be available to the staff for the school year.  Next $750 Fund Drumming Program ~ Arrowhead Music Department  Money raised over $3,150 will go back into the general PTA budget

New Business/Items for Discussion (Final) Copier Plan  Committee Chairs should work directly with Executive Team on any copier needs  Large copy needs (Read a Thon, MCT, Talent Show & Hawk Walk) are included in committee budget  Current copier is a PTA Asset. Requires General Membership vote to sell
