11 Volunteer Update Box Tops Co-Coordinator Needed
The Co-Coordinator would contact the winning classroom’s teacher to coordinate their board game party date/time (30-45 minutes) and obtain a list of classroom parents to assist with the games. Would also include some assistance with Box Top collection and counting as well as updating the bulletin board in the atrium. Time commitment: approximately one hour per week, both during and after school hours. Please  Lara Tickle questions or interest.  Spirit Wear Co-Chair: Our Spirit Wear chair is seeking a co-chair to help with new designs for next school year. Spirit wear is available to purchase online and before and after school on Fridays. See Brynn Patterson for details! Always need volunteers at Burroughs: current high need is in the lunchroom; 11-1 or as long as you can stay.

Spring Book Fair and Spring Picnic, Week of May 7th (picnic on Thursday, May 10th) Bike and Walk to School Day, Thursday May 10th Teacher Appreciation Breakfast, Friday, May 18th Spring Campus Clean-Up Day, Friday, May 18th Need volunteers for all of the above events; contact me or watch the Bulletin for more info Plus: Crayon Initiative, 5th Grade Party, opportunities—check out SignUpGenius for most up-to-date volunteer needs.

13 PTA Positions President: The President will serve a one year term and would oversee the PTA Board, manage overall objectives and strategies of PTA, facilitate PTA meetings and work as a liaison between parents and Burroughs administration. Co-Treasurer: The position is a two-year commitment, but would mainly shadow Treasurer Steve Connelly, next year. The position is critical in supporting PTA committees, school trips and activities, and the school budget.  If you know a good candidate for either position or would like more information, please contact Jennie Hartman

March 8 61 ppl attended 22 ppl – parents equity group Questions about (1) making systemic changes, (2) beyond black-white, (3) talking with kids at home, (4) teachers addressing diversity and bias in classroom, (5) getting White people to do the work

15 A GOOD TIME FOR THE TRUTH
April 19 Format – Small group discussion of 5 questions, followed by large group action planning. 35 books donated from Graywolf Press-- distributed at first parent equity group meeting. Goals: Focus on action items, take- aways, and tangible next steps, including a resource list. Begin to grow community for a deeper-dive series next year.
