3 Arrowhead PTA – General Meeting – December 6, 2011 Treasurer’s Report ~ November 2011 Highlights Full books are available to any PTA member. Just ask Jim Johnston, PTA Treasurer Family Night – Louie Foxx: $395 Eprep: $421 Classroom Funds: $309 Legislation: $280.00 Read-a-thon: $226 Halloween Candy: $145 Membership: $80 Popcorn: $67 Expenses Income Taxes are done – Thank You Erin! Applied for & received the Reseller’s Permit VOTE TONIGHT: Add new income line for Geo Club – income $0 (this year), expenses $220 Chef’s Club – income $450, expenses $450

4 New Budget Line Items Currently a Free program (4 th – 6 th ) Budget utilized for the following:  $90 School Registration fee with the National Geographic Society  Supplies for participants (blow up globes, placemats, prizes). Amount spent for 16 Participants this year: $116.03  Beginning in 2012-2013 School Year, introduce a $10 per student fee to help offset club costs New program - January 2012 Budget utilized for the following :  $300 – 6 classes @$50/class – food and supplies (may have professional chef come 1-2 times to present)  Include a $20 per student Club participation fee to help offset the cost of food/supplies  $150 – Student created cookbooks [To be sold via PTA website and functions to recover costs] GEO CLUB Ask: income $0, expense $220 CHEFS CLUB Ask: income $450, expense $450

8 Committee Reports & Announcements Read-a-Thon Wrap Up & Next Year Thank you to all!! Family Night on Tues., 11/29 – Louie Foxx – AWESOME! the Society of American Magicians voted Louie The Best Stage Magician and Best Close Up Magician Next Year – looking for that next team!! Chef’s Club 3 rd – 6 th grade for 6 weeks – cost is $20 – Starts in January on Tuesdays first 2 sessions will be taught by a local Seattle following sessions will by taught by Kathy, our Arrowhead food service staff, as well as some Bastyr nutrition students Big focus on healthy cooking!!

9 Committee Reports & Announcements Social Services Toy & Gift Drive – THIS WEEK Here is a suggested guideline: K-2nd provide for 0-6 year olds 3rd-4th provide for 7-10 year olds 5th-6th provide for 11-16 year olds Thank you for supporting our own community and making someone’s holidays a little brighter!

10 New Business Families in need + $5 cash & $50 gift card = $145 Raised from the Halloween Candy drive Eight $25 gift cards

11 Arrowhead PTA – General Meeting – December 6, 2011 New Business Continued 11 Need 3 volunteers to find our team for next year Requirement: must be a PTA member and can’t serve 2 years in a row Nominating Committee Thank you Erin Person, Colleen Frederick, Ann Bartol Reviewed July – October 2011 All Money is there but recommended some procedural changes for better tracking Financial Review Results Have about $7,000 Don’t have to spend it now. $1,000 on non-fiction books for the school classrooms Investing funds for a reader board? Budget Overage Discussion

12 New Business Overage Discussion  Overage amount: $7,000  Past gifts to the school with overage have included:  $10k to the playground  $9k for the climbing wall  $5k for the drumming program.  Motion #1 For Overage - Approved  $1,000 to purchase non-fiction books for book room  Motion #2 For Overage - Approved  $400 for comb binder for school  Motion #2 - Approved  Move to unrestrict the science afloat budget and pay for $1,100 toward the Pacific Science Center science day to educate all students PTA MISSION STATEMENT Arrowhead Elementary PTA will promote the welfare of all students, provide staff support, foster teacher and parent/community cooperation and enrich student learning.
