John Adams Life before POTUS Born October 30,1735 in Quincy, Massachusetts Born to John Adams Sr. and Susanna Boylston Adams Raised in colonial Massachusetts He earned a scholarship to Harvard University at the age of 16 Studied at Harvard University where he received his undergraduate and master’s degree

John Adams Presidency Opposed by Thomas Jefferson War between French and British was causing political issues for the United States Adams refused to call for the declaration of the war The French and British war ended in 1800 He became less popular with the public because of his decisions and lost the reelection to Thomas Jefferson

James Madison Life before POTUS Born on March 16, 1751, in Port Conway, Virginia Born to Eleanor Rose Conway and James Madison Sr. Raised in Orange County, Virginia Went to college in 1769, enrolling at the College of New Jersey. Also known as Princeton University.

James Madison Presidency Madison went to Congress to ask for a declaration of war against England that started the War of This was because the British would not stop harassing American ships and impressing soldiers. The war ended in Was married to Dolley Payne Todd Madison on September 15,1794. When the British marched on Washington, they burned many important buildings including the Navy Yards, the unfinished US Congress Building, the Treasury Building, and the White House. Mr. and Mrs. Madison fled the white house taking important treasures.

What do we think? Our opinion is that James Madison is the worst president because him and his wife left from the USA when we were in need. It might have been the best idea to him at the time because he was trying to stay safe by leaving the White House when it was burned down. He also instigated war though he knew America was not prepared.

Who do you think was the worst President of the United States before 1820?
