Plans were made to move the capital of our country to Washington, D.C. 5. George Washington was a Virginian

During his presidency: The two-party system emerged. John Adams, a Federalist, ran against Thomas Jefferson, a Democratic-Republican. Since Adams won, Jefferson became the vice-president John Adams was the first president to live in the White House John Adams was from Massachusetts
