National Student Committee NATIONAL STUDENT COMMITTEE comprises * National Student Coordinator (as Chairman) * Divisional Chairman (Education & Research) * All Regional Student Coordinators * Director – Education, CSI This committee will advice ExecCom and recommend guidelines for advancement of student activities

Role of National Student Committee Recommend guidelines for activities of student branches at National/Regional/State and Chapter level including conventions, conferences, seminars, meetings and education courses Support and monitor activities of student branches within the framework of rules Address difficulties faced by the SBs and escalate them to the ExecCom

Student Branch Committee Student Branch Committee (SBcom) comprises * Student Branch Counsellor (SBC) – a faculty member nominated by the college * Convenor – A student member elected/nominated by the other members * Chairman/Secretary of the local Chapter to which the student branch is attached * One member for every 20 members of the branch (minimum of 3 and maximum of 10)

Student Branch Administration Term of the committee is from 1st July to 30th June Annual General Meeting to be held before 30th September every year Convenor and members of the committee to be elected before 31st March and communicated to Education Directorate, CSI Term of the Convenor is 1 year and is not eligible for re-election

Student Branch Administration SBcom shall manage affairs of the branch in accordance with CSI guidelines SBcom shall keep the State Student coordinator and Regional Student coordinator updated on the activities SBcom shall convene periodic meetings to plan/monitor activities. Minimum quorum for such meetings is 4 out of which 1 is a student

Financial Administration Bank Account shall be maintained in the name of the student branch Authorized signatories shall be 1. Head of the institute or nominee 2. Chairman/Secretary of the local chapter 3. Student Branch Counsellor (SBC) Account to be operated jointly by 1 and (2 or 3)

Annual Budget Not later than June every year, SBcom to prepare an Income/Expense for the year Budget to be as per the guidelines of CSI for conduct of events (eg. Conventions) Budget to be presented to the Head of the institution for approval All further financials for the year to be governed by the approved budget

Student Branch Accounts Proper books of accounts/ Vouchers/ Bills have to be maintained for all income/expenses All expenses incurred to be approved by SBcom Accounts certified by Head of the institution to be forwarded to CSI Education Directorate before 30th September

Mandatory Activities of a Student Branch Annual General Meeting Monthly Tech talks / workshops Theme Conference Tech Fest Socially Relevant Projects/Programs (eg. Outreach program for rural schools) Participation in atleast 1 CSI convention (State/Regional/ National) . Participation in local chapter events Participation in CSI contests (Quiz/Projects)

Student Branch Awards Awards have been instituted by CSI for Largest Student Branch Best Compliance Student Branch Longest Continuous CSI Student Branch Counsellor Faculty with maximum publishing in CSIC Student with maximum publishing in CSIC Most committed Student Branch activist Details available at http://www.csi-india.org/web/guest/academic-excellence-awards

Other Awards Best CSI Student Branch (nominations to be filed through Regional/National Student coordinator to CSI Education Directorate based on call for applications in CSI Communications during Aug- Sept every year) Most active contribution by a student member (to be nominated by the local chapter/SBC)
