3 R10 Electronic Communications IEEE REGION 10 Meet 2 – 3 Feb 2008 Email ­ The IEEE Asia Pacific Operation (APO) Centre in Singapore has created various email list for forwarding emails to relevant volunteers in Region 10 e.g Section and Council Chairs email list. ­ To add or update Point of Contact at your Section on the email list, please send details to Fanny Su /Serena Dhing at the IEEE Asia Pacific Operations Centre ieeeapo@pacific.net.sg ieeeapo@pacific.net.sg ­ Not all officials at your Section are on the email lists. It is important that Section Chairs (or any other POC on the list) forward R10 emails to the relevant Chapter Chairs and SB Chairs in a timely manner. ­ Although emails can be used to send out announcements, the preferred way is to send it for inclusion on website and the newsletter. It raises your Section’s profile among IEEE community It provides an opportunity to project and recognize great work of your volunteers Sharing your experiences and success stories provides an opportunity for others to learn and emulate the innovative professional activities for the benefit of IEEE members. 7 IEEE R10 e-Newsletter What you can send for publication in the R10 Newsletter? Reports about technical activities organised by your Sections such as lectures, robot contests, plant tours, science fairs, career workshops etc. Reports about social activities such as Section or Council anniversaries, annual dinner & awards ceremony, and results of annual elections & new officers Student Branch Activities Please send your reports as early as possible. If your report is edited you will have the opportunity to review the edited version before publication. Send your reports in MS WORD and pictures in JPEG format. Images extracted from PDF files are not always of good quality.
