Nelson Mandela “The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.” Nelson Mandela, one of the greatest political figures of all times, one of the most inspirational figures, spent 27 years as a political prisoner in South Africa before becoming the country's first black president. He is regarded as a symbol of peace and reconciliation between the races. He is widely known for his determination for achieve equality and fair treatment of blacks in South Africa. He went to jail for what he believed to be wrong: judging people solely based on their skin color. Most of the people put him on the same level as Martin Luther King, Jr. John Michael Coetzee An author and academic from South Africa, a novelist and literary critic as well as a translator, author of “Waiting for the Barbarians” and “Life and Times of Michael K,” Coetzee was awarded the 2003 Nobel Prize in Literature. The Swedish Academy in Stockholm described his books as being “characterized by their well-crafted composition, pregnant dialogue and analytical brilliance. But at the same time he is a scrupulous doubter, ruthless in his criticism of the cruel rationalism and cosmetic morality of western civilization.”

Natural resources and geographic factors Natural resources: gold, chromium, antimony, coal, iron ore, manganese, nickel, phosphates, tin, rare earth elements, uranium, gem diamonds, platinum, copper, vanadium, salt, natural gas Geographic Factors Geographic factors often have an important influence on the history, economy, and culture of regions and nations. Three geographic factors are Monsoons, Nile River Valley, and Island locations. Each of these have good and bad effects on an area, depending on the temperature, climate and/or other mother nature controlled elements of the world. The geographic features of an area answer many questions about the types of economy, the background of their history and specific type of culture. Monsoons mostly affect the Country of India. From June till September, the summer monsoon blows from the southwest, in this direction it picks up moisture over the Indian Ocean. This then drops vast amounts of rains on the coast and on the northern plain, but the rains may cause floods which can kill some crops. From October to may, the winter monsoon blows from lands to the northeast. These hot dry winds raise temperatures to more than 100 degrees F. These monsoons specially affect the economic static of the country.geographic factorsRiver Valleysummer monsoonIndian Ocean monsoon blows

government The South Africa government type is based on a constitutional democracy, with a constitution that is regarded as one of the most progressive in the world, and a "Bill of Rights" second to none. The country has a three-tier system of government, and an independent judiciary, operating under a parliamentary structure. The South African government is decentralised in national, provincial and local levels of government, called the three tier system, each with its own legislature and executive, all based on a system of interdependent, interrelated and co-operative government.

Location Location of South Africa is on the very southern tip of Africa, it is a republic which is surrrounded by land at the top and the two oceans, Indian Ocean and Atlantic Ocean. Location of South Africa gives it the very charecteristic climate and natural vegetation in combination with geographical peculiariaties. Location of South Africa is also responsible in a major way for the economic and socio-political milieu of the Republic of South Africa.
